I’m off to celebrate Christmas now, going home to mom and dad over the Christmas weekend. They only live 20 minutes from town, so I don’t have to bring so much stuff which is nice. Only one thing is missing, some snow would be great! But hey, I have to stand that it will be a green Christmas this year.

All my gifts are wrapped and I’m ready, therefore, God Jul, Merry Christmas!

Studio Friday topic for Friday December 22nd

RITUALS & WISHES!
” So many of my friends have certain little rituals they adhere to when starting to work, or finishing work. I do too. It can’t be that unusual, and some are very sweet or amusing. Although some are maybe too embarrassing to share? Another thought is:

I have tried to figure out if I have some rituals that I use when I create. But I can’t think of some kind of ritual that I have. Of course I have it when I’m of to my work. I do things in the same order every morning. But that is something else. Maybe I tend to spread my things around in my apartment, but calling that a ritual feels wrong.

What about my wishes then? They are much easier to write about. I dream of and wished that I had a place to work with my woodwork, my own snickarbod, workshop. That would be so great! One day, don’t know when, but I will own one, that’s for sure. I also wish that I had a lot of tools and woodworking machines. Like a plane and stuff like that.

One little simple wish, I hope Santa brings that to me… or maybe I haven’t been that nice this year?

The first cut is the deepest, or I bought a paper cut.

Last time Hanna and I went on a loppis, flea market, I found a paper cut for only 20 SEK. A real find because I have thought of buying one many times. I don’t use paper that much so I don’t need an expensive one. This will work fine for me!

Saturday my grandmother turned 90! We spent some hours at here small little apartment, eat smörgåstårta, sandwich layer-cake, and I gave here a small gift that I had made. I gave here a brooch made last week when we made glass jewellery at my work.

Working with glass is something I never have done before, but it was fun! I already which that I could do it once more! Hopefully we will do it next term some day.

The picture could have been better, but it was hard to take a photo of it. The picture also lies about the size; it’s only 4 cm wide and almost 2 cm high.

Hey, it’s another bag! This one made out of a pair of blue jeans. I made some cutting and sewing and embroidery. Out came this bag, quiet happy with the result, even if I like the black one a bit more than this. But, they are both for sale this Sunday at a Christmas fair I attend.

On Saturday I’m celebrating my grandmother that turns ninety, 90! years! Amazing, I wonder if I will became so old. It will be year 2070 then…

No more writing now, it’s soon midnight here and I’m very tired so it’s time to sleep!

I made this cover to my calendar in May 2005 and I have now started to feel a bit tired of it. Therefore I decided to make one new cover. I went true my fabrics and I choose a dark blue kind of jeans fabric, I got a small piece of flower fabric and then I used a bit of one overhead-paper to make the window. For the moment I only have put a bit of paper and one moo card in the window. Don’t know if I’m going to make a name tag or something instead. Like the picture with my shoe so I think I use it for a while.

It’s easy to make this covers, but so fun! In almost no time I have got a new cover that makes me happy!

Hanna asked what plans for December decorations I have. And this far I have managed to put up two different stars, one new for this year and the one I have in my kitchen I think it’s the third time I’m use. For the moment this is as much December decoration I have the energy to put up, but maybe I take out some more stuff later.

I have not made so many things lately; I don’t have had any ideas when it comes to be creative, except for some Christmas gifts I have made. Which I have thought of the entire autumn so it doesn’t count. But this weekend I made some recycling when I found a pair of old jeans. I turned them into a bag; it was really fun to do some återbruksslöjd, reuse handicraft. I have used the trousers front and back pockets and one leg became the strap. I had to cut and sew some before I got the rectangle shape that I wanted. I feel happy about how it turned out. On the backside I sewed one piece of a flower fabric so it looks like a patch that normally is on a pair of jeans. Three slots on a bag are quiet good I think, more only results in that you never know where you put your stuff.

I have started on one bag in blue jeans fabric too… I will come back to that bag later.

Studio Friday

This week’s topic for December 1st: MY FAVOURITE COLOUR COMBOS!

(I have problems with posting my entries at Tinesparkles, I think it has something to do with blogsome and squarespace not liking each other or something else.)

I don’t have any especially colour combinations that I use frequently I like many different colours. But I prefer a sort of green that looks almost like green peas or green olives. I have been a blue person before; when I was 15 I think that I only had blue and maybe some black sweaters. I still like blue, but not that much anymore. I have made one small shrink box, krympburk, this summer that I painted in a sort of turquoise colour and the lid is kind of pink. That is my favourite combo for the moment, looking at it makes me smile.
