Today it’s the world book day, which I celebrated by going to the library twice this day. And the second time I notice that it was the world book day. So I felt that I had to write a post about it, or more about my reading.
When I grow up I didn’t like to read books, I was a slow reader and it felt more like a punishment then a pleasure. Then something happen when I was twelve or something like that. I started to read more, I went to the library, and I talked to friends about what they were reading. And slowly but surely I felt a need for reading. I read a lot of books for young teenager and after a while I started to read fantasy and especially David Eddings book, I can say one thing, it’s many long month that I have waited on books by Eddings to be translated into Swedish. I didn’t like to read in English then, and don’t do it so much now either. But I can if I have to; there are a lot of books that never translates into Swedish. And after I finished my fantasy period I started to read more novels.
I think that one thing that helped me start read was that I liked a good story and that my parents always read books for me and my sister when we were growing up and couldn’t read.
I’m glad that I started to read and never have stopped. A life becomes so much richer if you read I think! Someone has once said something like “When you read you are never alone” and that I also finds true! I have many friends that love to read, Hanna is one of them. We always talks about books in some way when we see each other. And my friend Anna love books too, she even work with books… so we also talks about reading!
I hope you have read something in a book today! I have!
